OVERVIEW

Founded in 1992, Titans Group is a specialized provider of high-tech power electronics products and technologies, for which it is is active in research, development, production and sales. Its products are designed for application in different sectors of the power electronics industry and range from conventional high frequency switch communication power supply and direct current (DC) power supply systems to more advanced products, i.e. power grid stabilization and power saving systems, wind and solar energy power supply control and balancing systems, high power LED lighting systems and rapid chargers for electric vehicles. The illustration below displays the Group’s current products and their application:

 

The DC power supply product series can be divided into three subcategories: (1) electric energy conversion and transformation devices (2) power monitoring and control systems and (3) electric power feed and transmission systems. 

These products include very importang technology components for power supply and transmission from the power plant all the way down to the power consumer. Transformer technology adjusts the electric power to specific end-user requirements; monitoring and control systems ensure safety and smooth operation for power generation, power supply and for the use of electric energy. The illustration below displays the application of different products in power generation, power supply and power use (products by Titans are marked in blue).



DC power supply


Most power is supplied with alternating currents (AC) and power supply relies on save and continuous operation of such AC systems. However, DC systems become crucially important when there is a failure in regular power supply. Our DC systems are installed at power plants and in transformer substations. Through our AC power converters, AC power is changed to DC power and can thus be saved to batteries. When regular power supply fails, the battery based DC system can provide uninterrupted power to sensitive components in power plants and transformer substations. Titan’s power conversion devices include GZDW/GCFW intelligent DC power supply system, TTX series communication power supply system as well as core functional modules for high frequency DC switch systems. These systems are in use at power plants and transformer substations in a wide range of industries such petrochemical, metallurgical, mining, railway and others. In addition, Titans also provides components and functional modules for DC power supply systems. As core products, the DC power supply systems (including GZDW and GCFW series) have taken an important role in the success of our business and remain to be an important part of our product portfolio. The system functions include: GZDW: Provides 220V or 110V DC power to control, monitoring, protection and signaling systems of power plants and substations. Its main components include: rectification module, micro control module, insulation monitoring module, battery control module, machine case, batteries, etc. GCFW: is an extension of the GZDW, adding an additional inverter module to its components and thus making synchronous AC input from the DC battery source into the AC power grid possible. This enables automatic battery maintenance and energy saving. Our UPS systems provide uninterrupted power supply for the occasions of power outage or anomalies in power supply, thus insuring uninterrupted operation of electricity powered devices. Power supply monitoring and control systems Providing monitoring, control and protection for power supply systems. They include: A Transformer substation integrated automation system that performs transformer device and operation monitoring, control and protection tasks to insure save, stable and reliable operation of the devices and fulfill the requirements for an unmanned administration of transformer substations. A Power supply operation and environment monitoring system that uses different sensors to remotely monitor operation of the devices and equipment within the transformer substation. The system guarantees safe and reliable operation of the transformer substation and its integrated communication devices. A High voltage online insulation monitoring and administration integrated with the high voltage equipment information management and control system. Specialized sensors monitor the insulation of high voltage power transmission lines as well as the insulation of the high voltage equipment installed within the transformer substations. The system analyses and evaluates the sensor data and provides exact scientific information to the control center, through which the location and cause for power leakage and other problems can be determined, thus achieving the goal of highly efficient and save operation of the power grid.


PASS ABB Switchgear Module

Acting as agent for ABB, Titans offers the ABB PASS series switchgear module made by ABB in Italy and mainly designed for use in transformer substations. The PASS system is a gas-insulated (SF6) switchgear module with large advantages when compared to conventional air insulated systems. All functions of a bay are combined in one single module and are designed for convenient transportation and installation. The SF6 housing, into which operating and interrupting functions are integrated, allows for utmost operation reliability. The ABB PASS system is ideally suited for the extension of existing and construction of new substations, as it offers very high versatility for the layout and planning of such projects.

Wind and solar energy power supply balancing and control devices

Wind and solar power are important renewable energy sources and a safe, reliable, environmental friendly and inexhaustible alternative for electric power generation. However, since these wind and solar energy sources do not produce power in a continuous and constant flow, the power output has to be balanced and adjusted before it can comply with the requirements of on- and off grid power supply.
The Titans wind and solar power generation balancing and control devices are equipped with state of the art electric power and DSP micro control technology. They are highly reliable, have comprehensive protection functions, low waveform distortion and offer high quality and very efficient power supply in connection with solar- and wind power generators. Different configurations make them suitable for various setups of green energy power supply, be it to meet the demands for power grid integrated power supply, or for off-grid power balancing needs. For all possible solutions and electric capacity needs, we offer a suitable product.

The Titans TPCS-B series on grid electric power generation balancing element is designed for wind and solar power installations that generates electricity suitable for the public power grid. The product is offered for 3kW or 5kW systems that are mainly installed on private home rooftops. The system enables not only the long term saving of public electricity; it also lets the renewable energy producer channel excess power into the public power grid. In some countries, renewable energy policy offers a high premium on such green energy.

The Titans TPCS-L off grid power generation balancing element is designed for renewable energy power supply in areas away from the public power grid. At times where power consumption is low, excessive electricity from wind- and solar power generation will be saved to batteries and can be used at times with little wind or sun. Currently three product types, 1, 3, 5 and 10kW are available. They are optimized for private home or community use, ideally suited to solve electricity supply problems in remote, off-grid areas.
Off-grid “green energy” systems are the best realization of China"s plan to bring electricity to remote areas for lighting, telecommunications, agriculture, forestry, meteorology, transport, broadcasting, television and other electrical equipment. The technology could bring the same benefits in many other developing countries and wherever there are remote areas without cost efficient access to a public power grid.

Titans has developed applied highly efficient wind and solar energy balancing and control systems at a time when not only the Chinese government but also the United Nations and governments around the world are pushing and supporting the development and application of green, renewable energies. Thus we believe that within the next years, Titan’s products may well spread all over the world, supporting a better and cleaner living in harmony with the environment.

Rapid battery charger for electric vehicles

The new type electric vehicle charger developed by Titans realizes highly efficient and rapid battery charging, while at the same time increasing battery performance and lifetime. Titans has thus overcome a most difficult hurdle to the feasibility of efficient battery powered vehicles. The charger can not only be used to charge standard electric street vehicles, but can also be applied in warehouses, workshops, ports, airports, bowling centers, green sites, tourist attractions and other specific locations, where rechargeable electric vehicles are used. It can also be used with other electricity-driven equipment.

As shown in the schematic diagram above, high voltage power from the grid is transformed to 380V or 220V standard AC power. Via a power distributor it is then provided to the charger. The Titans intelligent rapid charger converts AC power from the power distributor into the correct DC power to charge the specific batteries of an electric vehicle. The charging process is automatically controlled by the charger, ensuring a highly efficient and save operation with an ideal charge result. The device is suited for indoor as well as for outdoor charging stations.
At present, Titans electric vehicle chargers include the following products:
TQC intelligent vehicle charger
This intelligent vehicle charger has been developed in accordance with the specific requirements of a U.S. customer. It is an independent innovation with self-developed and patented new technology. The smart charger can automatically identify and accurately charge a wide range of batteries from 8V to 130V voltage and from 0A to 200A charging current. It features superb characteristics such as, high precision, small size and high efficiency, while being easily extendable. The device continuously monitors and optimizes the charging process, while providing the user with real-time operating parameters and diagnostic information.
Can automatically identify and meet from 8 V to 1.3 V voltage and 0 A to 200 A current of the battery charger, and a high precision, small size, adapt to a wide range of high efficiency and facilitate expansion characteristics. Continuous monitoring and optimization of the battery charging process, the charger can provide real-time operating parameters and diagnostic information. Prototype testing has already been successfully conducted in the United States and the product has been categorized as high-tech innovation. The series will be developed as an export product.
"Charger King" mobile electric vehicle charger
This product has especially been developed for electric vehicle charging in the domestic urban public transportation sector. It is perfectly suited for the requirements of public transportation and can be used with all types of rechargeable batteries. Data from the battery management information system is calculated and analyzed during the automatic charge process of a lithium-ion battery. This optimal handling is a warrant for lithium ion battery safety and extended battery life. Mounted onto a cart, this charger is mobile and can be ideally used as movable urban vehicle battery charging station, as well as in emergencies or other exceptional situations.
"King Charger" vehicle-mounted charger
This product is a special version of the Titans electric vehicle charger designed for certain projects. It is directly mounted onto the vehicle, so they can be charged anywhere where there is AC electricity available. This series is also used in electric vehicles during the Beijing Olympic Games. The chargers are tailored to the specific requests of the customer. The specialized battery charging station, can be highly automated, and operates with high-precision and high reliability for an optimal charging result.

High-Power LED lighting products

LED lighting products use Light Emitting Diodes (LED) to produce light from electricity. The most obvious advantage of modern LED lighting is its very high efficiency, compared to a traditional Edison light bulb; LED light saves about 80% electricity. Above that, LEDs have an extremely long product lifetime, neither infrared nor ultraviolet light nor any other invisible light is emitted and it can be produced without any hazardous or poisonous materials.
Titan high-power LED lighting products have their advantage in a set of LED lighting core technology; the core technology effectively solves the demands on high wattage power LEDs. Lighting characteristics, heat control and other key factors all meet high expectations, so that the LED products from Titans all went smoothly through national testing agencies and also met all the practical lighting (especially in the public road lighting) needs.
Titan LED lighting products can be powered by two ways: One is via the public power grid, and the other is by the use of wind and solar energy. The former uses electricity in the traditional way, but with substantial savings in power, while the latter uses green energy and does not require any costly lying of cables.
Titan"s high-power LED lighting products are divided into the following main categories:
Road and tunnel LED lighting products are mainly applied in public road lighting. For these products not only the luminance, but also the light uniformity in the illuminated area underlie stringent requirements and must comply with all the relevant official standards, mostly on national level.
Community and courtyard LED lighting products are designed to meet the lighting needs of urban residential areas. They need to be in accordance with regional design specifications on their luminance which usually do not include requirements on light uniformity.
LED lighting power supply devices give LED lighting systems a high quality, reliable power source that ensures a long product life and reliable operation. The LED lighting regulator automatically controls lighting time, brightness and other operating settings of the system in order to achieve efficient and energy saving lighting in accordance with user demands and official requirements. Above product can be used with on-grid as well as off grid (wind and solar) power supply. For wind and solar LED lighting, the whole range of Titans wind and solar power supply products can be adopted

Power grid harmonization and power saving products


During the past few years, the Chinese government has introduced many policies to promote power grid harmonization and energy saving. As a result many products have been developed and applied in a new, huge market. Grid harmonization and energy saving technologies lead to great improvements in power supply quality, lowers the risks arising from poor quality grids and leads to a better efficiency of power supply altogether, realizing the goal of a “greener” use of electric power by reducing avoidable loss of power in the grid.
Power grid harmonization and energy saving products provided by Titans are reactive power compensation and harmonization devices, designed to achieve improved power quality, and improve the efficiency of power supply and distribution. Our reactive power compensation and voltage harmonization control devices reach from 200V to 35 kV, low- and high pressure filtering equipment is divided by the type of applicable control method into active and passive filtering equipment. These devices can be designed and installed according to user specific power quality problems, offering highly individualized and cost-effective solutions.

Reactive power is an important aspect of the electrical system, in AC power supply, reactive power will arise when voltage and current are out of sync, causing a change in voltage in the generation and transmission equipment and subsequent power loss. Passive filter equipment on the grid absorbs or feeds an appropriate variable supply of reactive power, so as to achieve improved voltage regulation, reduced power line losses.
